Alton's POV
Alton laughed to his friends as he swigged another sip of beer. They cheered and held their beer glasses up in the air.
Alton is a partier. Almost every night he is out at a dance club or bar in the more rugged areas of Misty Mountains. Most of the time he was sober. He wasn't an alcoholic, but he drank almost every time he went out to a night club or somewhere to party.
He laughed, thinking only about partying and having fun.
Ever since he had lost his most trusted friends Kalen and Shea so long ago he had pretty much lost it. Not sure what to do with his life, he retired to partying every night and holding small jobs in the village during the day. Life wasn't too bad. In fact, for him it was perfect.
That night they were celebrating the beginning of the week, Sunday. At a 21 and over bar with an immense amount of alcohol and an all-you-can-eat buffet. He munched on hamburgers an spicy pasta until he was full and sat with his friends at the bar laughing and talking.
That was when the whole bar quieted down. Alton turned in his bar stool to see a younger fox enter the bar.
It was an unusual sight for him considering usually the only people who came into the bar where rugged, older, and honestly, most of them were male. But the even weirder thing was that Alton seemed to recognize the girl. He knew he had seen her before, he just couldn't quite place it.
The girl must have been barely 21, if not a few years younger. But somehow she got past the guards with some cold hard stares and a firm talking to. Her fur was a very light tan and she had magenta coloring spread over her fur. She rolled her eyes and lowered her magenta wings as she entered, as if it was totally normal for a young-adult female fairy to walk into the bar. She walked with stride. She still seemed a lot like a teenager, but had a lot of confidence and leadership in her attitude and stride.
She stopped as she entered the room, surveying the people.
"Uh... is there an Alton around here?" She groaned, as if she had asked that question a lot with no luck. A few men nodded and pointed over to him and the majority of the men just shrugged and continued their conversations.
She made her way to where Alton was and surveyed him.
"Well... your not what I expected but... I guess I should just be thankful I found you at least." She shook his paw and he hesitantly shook it back, confused at what she was doing.
"What up with you little girl? I know I've seen you before somewhere..." He muttered. She raised her eyebrows.
"Your the only person I could find who knew my parents. I needed to find you." At that moment he knew exactly who he was. Her blue eyes, light tan fur, she was Kalen and Shea's second daughter.
"Violet..." He muttered.
"Yes! You do know me!" She looked relieved and cracked a slight smile.
Alton must have been having hallucinations. Probably too much alchohol. He held on to his stool to keep his balance as he became dizzy. She couldn't really be here. And how could she even know he knew her parents. It was all too much.
"You're... really... here.." He muttered, more to assure himself rather then asking her. But she replied anyways.
"Uh... yeah. What happened, you drank too much?" She smirked. He stared at her. Who was this girl? It wasn't the Violet he knew- she didn't remind him of her parents. Except her looks. She was smart and might be kind, but she had a harsh side to her that showed.
"So why are you here?" He licked his lips and set his beer down, slumping against the counter, "I'm not the person I used to be. I have a new life. I've left my old life behind. I can't help you."
"Pity." She noted, "Because I live in a palace a few kingdoms away and I was going to offer you something.... anything.. if you will talk to me." She began to walk away.
She was bribing him. He could play this game.
"Fine. But i'm not flying there."
"Pfft... whatever." She laughed and made her way out of the building. Alton set his beer down and hastily followed her. It was dim outside- dusk just falling on the kingdom, setting the landscape aglow in an odd yellow light. Violet turned around and opened her wings as she did so, letting them open up behind her. "So how do you expect to get there if you wont fly, huh?" She gave him an annoying glare.
"Why do we have to go to where you live?" He sat in a stiff stance, not wanting to go anywhere, but knowing he had to help her. She knew nothing about her past, and if she was so determined that she somehow found him, he should help her. "We could just talk in my place."
"Fine." She snapped. "Where to?"
"Just follow me." He opened his scarred wings, which he didn't like using. They were a dark shade of green with a gray tint to them, scarred from his times when he protected Violet's parents. He rose and flew off toward his musty house on the edge of the kingdom.
Oh, lord almighty!
